This article explains the different types of surveys available on Impact Cloud.
If you are a Foundation, Impact Fund, or Accelerator, you might be collecting or have the intention to collect data from the businesses/nonprofits in your portfolio. This data tends to be aggregated results, so in this case, you can use the metrics survey. For example, you can collect "Client Individuals: Female."
If you have the capacity to collect data directly from the end beneficiaries/clients, you can use the stakeholder survey. This survey can also be used to collect feedback from volunteers, employees, and any individuals associated with your services or products.
A longitudinal survey is a type of stakeholder survey that involves repeated observations of the same variables (e.g., people) over short or long periods of time. It could be quarterly, semi-annual, or annual surveys depending on the project.
The purpose of having pre, mid, and post-survey is to derive insights at different points in time such as the baseline, during and post-intervention
Pre Survey is conducted during the planning stage (before a program starts) in order to understand the baseline and where the stakeholder stands prior to the intervention.
Mid Survey is conducted halfway through the execution stage (during the program) in order to understand the effect of the program and where the stakeholder stands during the intervention.
Post Survey is conducted after the execution stage (after the program) in order to understand the change as a result of the program and where the stakeholder stands after the intervention.
