Next, we select one of the seven available options (in terms of visualization)

1. Aggregated Results By Investments

When you want to compare one or more metric common across all your investments over different periods

In the figure below we are comparing 2 metrics “No of people who said they were happy as a result of Ulytics” and “No of people who reduced the number of hours spent on computers” across the years 2018 and 2019 and across all investments (The values of the metrics are summed up for different Investments - You get an aggregated result)

Aggregated results by Investments

Detailed steps for Aggregated results by Investments

  1. Select the ToC (Metric set) - one or more may be selected
  2. Select the type of metric to analyze - Numeric/Percentage (NOTE: ALL to be used for Table View scenario only) etc - What you select here will influence what you see in the metrics drop-down (Selecting numeric will bring up only numeric metrics)
  3. Select the metrics (One or more may be selected)
  4. Select the Investments (One or more may be selected)
  5. Finally, select the period (One or more may be selected)

2. Accumulative Results

When you want to compare different investments on different metrics for multiple reporting periods. In this case the metric values are added for multiple periods.

In the below screenshot, the two investments “Ulytics” and “Oceancross” are being compared on the basis of the two metrics “No of people who said they were happy as a result of Ulytics” and “No of people who reduced the number of hours spent on computers” for multiple periods (2018 and 2019). The metric values are summed up for Investments across multiple periods.

Using Filters and Saving queries

There are chances that you have several Investments and you categorize them by funds and managing several investments can get challenging in Outcome Insights. We use filters to narrow down our options in Outcome Insights.

1. Click on the icon

filter

on Outcome Insights screen (shown in the below screenshot below)

Outcome_insights_filter

2. The following popup opens up when you click on the filters

filter_popup

3. Select your filter and click on Save.

This ensures that the metrics and the investments you see are restricted to the filters you applied.

You can now use any of the Outcome Insights scenarios and they will all be restricted to the filters.

Once you get a visualization to work. You can save the view so that you do not have to select the same 6 options the next time you use Outcome Insights to reproduce the same scenario. To save the view, follow these steps

1. After you get a table view or a visualization, on the right side of the screen click on “Save View”

SaveView

2. The following popup opens up, give you view a name and click on “Save”

save_view_popup

3. Next time you visit the application and want to bring up the same visualization, click on the drop-down "Saved View" beside the filter as shown below

Save_view_drop_down

Choose your previously saved visualization or table and you will be able to recover the same view. This view can be modified from the filters on the left and saved with a new name.
